Exploding Word Ministries run a family reconciliation course which aims to unite families through Christ Jesus. Reconciliation simply means to restore a broken relationship. The original broken relationship was between God and man and while throughout the course we look at that relationship we will also focus attention on the physical family which God instituted to be an ongoing witness of His intentions for mankind.

In order for us to understand why it is Jesus Christ who is the only name under heaven who can reconcile us to God, we need to understand that it was Jesus who was our creator in the beginning. Jesus Christ is referred to as the Word of God (Logos - spokesperson for God).

Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no-one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

John1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

In Genesis we find that God (the Word) used the first human family as a typology of Himself.

In Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Mankind was made to reflect God's nature, character and physical appearance and as such is the only acceptable image God allowed to exist of Him. This is why it is important to understand the role of the human family in the world today.

If we look at Adam (the first man) we quickly see that God created him alone. This is highlighted within Genesis 2:18 The Lord God said,"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him".

The reason Adam was made before Eve was not to belittle her importance but to show that Adam was a typology of Jesus to later generations.

When God created all of the rest of life on the planet earth he spoke them into existence both male and female at the same time.

So how does Adam, represents Christ in this instance. In Genesis 2:19 God brings into existence copies all of the physical life He has created and presents them to Adam to name and classify. None of the animals were found to be suitable a suitable partner for Adam.

God has recorded within the scriptures that He has chosen a bride for His son Jesus Christ from among the nations in much the same way as an arranged marriage is conducted today. In arranging this first marriage for Adam we see that God does not consider the animals of the earth, while alive and of the same creation, to be a suitable wife for Adam. It is equally important to note that the physical nations of the earth are not considered to be a suitable bride for Jesus Christ.

In Genesis 2:21-22 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

The scriptures first highlight that in order to make the perfect woman it would be necessary for Adam to go to sleep (to extract his rib). While we may consider this to be the first use of an anaesthetic in reality it represented the necessity of the death of Jesus on the cross as a payment to the world (mankind) for his bride.

Scriptures state that Eve was formed from a rib of Adam, therefore, while she was brought into existence at a later date than Adam, she is acknowledged to be of the same creation as Adam due to his rib being used in her creation.

Adam recognised Eve to be flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone and he loved her immediately.

When Jesus Christ died on the cross He offered/commended His living Spirit to his Father so that it could be used to prepare a unique creation which would be suitable to him just like the rib of Adam was used in the Garden of Eden to create Eve. He then accepted the spirit of the first Adam which had died due to disobediences and this is the reason that he (who was righteous) was able to die.

The Father gives the living spirit of Jesus Christ to all who are being called to become part of his body, the Church/Bride as highlighted in 2nd Corinthian 5:17-18 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.

As a Christian you have a new spirit, not the original dead spirit you were born with that your inherited from Adam but a living spirit which is the spirit of Jesus who is the last Adam.

Jesus stated in John 6:53-57 "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me".

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Roman 8:9-10 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if any man does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is alive because of righteousness.

God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, "Abba, Father." Gal 4:6

As you can see from the short list of supplied verses the bride of Christ is empowered by His spirit and therefore is made perfect and acceptable as a perfect helpmate for Jesus.

The family reconciliation course run by Exploding Word Ministries is designed to highlighted the powerful Christian witness God has created within marriage and why He holds us accountable as to how faithfully we reflect him within marriage.

Within the course:-

1.We explored the role of the physical family and teach Jesus' lessons on being a good Husband - Father, Wife - Mother etc.

2.We explain why God tells a husband he has to love his wife, while a wife only has to honour her husband which is similar to God's instruction on how children are to honour their parents.

3.God's plan to reconcile the world to Him using one family at a time

4.The Christian responsibility to immediate family, extended family, neighbours and strangers etc.

5.That you are part of one family and will inherit all things with Jesus Christ and live forever.

The course is normally hosted by local churches in regard to venue but can be offered on a small group setting within a private home if desired.

Exploding Word Ministries will supply a Christian Speaker to progress the course which normally consists of five 1-hour sessions with discussion and light refreshments following.
