The Gospel of Mark -Video Bible Studies

 

Chapter One

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries commences the bible study by examining the teaching recorded within the 1st chapter of the Gospel of Mark. The small Gospel of Mark only consists of 16 Chapters in length but is a fast moving summary of the servant-hood of Jesus Christ, focusing on the healing and miracles of our Lord and Saviour within His earthly ministry.

Chapter Two

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 2nd chapter of the Gospel of Mark. With the start of the 2nd chapter we see the example of faith shown by the friends of the paralysed as the break through the roof of the house to get their sick friend to Jesus. Also the teaching on fasting and Sabbath observance are discussed.

 

Chapter Three

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 3rd chapter of the Gospel of Mark. With the start of the 3rd chapter we are immediately confronted with further teaching about the Sabbath. The incident of the withered hand and the accusation that Jesus is healing through the influenced of Satan. We also see that Jesus' own family feared for his sanity at this time.

Chapter Four

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 4th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. With the start of the 4th chapter we are introduced to the teaching of Jesus through his many parables. The sowing of the seed, the setting of the lamp and the mustard seed are all cover within this chapter.

 

Chapter Five

With the start of the 5th chapter we complete the journey across the lake and see Jesus cast out the legion of demons and sends them into a large herd of pigs. On their return to the other side of the lake they are met by the ruler of the synagogue, who's 12 years old daughter is dying, but the child's healing is delayed when a woman with an issue of blood is healed first. Word then comes that the child has died but Jesus reassures the father and the dead child is brought back to life and restored to her family.

Chapter Six

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 6th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. With the start of the 6th chapter we find Jesus and the disciples back in Jesus' home town. On the Sabbath Jesus starts to teach in the synagogue but the people become offended by him as they consider him to be just one of the local men of the area. Jesus explains to his disciples that a prophet is never respected in his own home. Following this episode Jesus goes on to other towns and sends his disciples ahead of him with authority to heal and cast out demons. On their return Jesus takes them to a quiet place to rest but the multitude anticipate where they are going and arrive there ahead of them. In excess of 15 thousand people may have been there however the bible only counts the men and not the women or children and there were 5 thousand men. Jesus feed this multitude and after sending the multitude home take some time to pray by himself. The disciples are out in a boat rowing against the wind and Jesus comes to them walking on the water.

 

Chapter Seven

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 7th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. With the start of the 7th chapter we start to find some more organised challenges to Jesus' authority with the Pharisees complaining the the disciples were not observing the oral traditions of the elders. Jesus quickly explains that a person is not defiled by what they eat but can be defiled by what they think, say and do. Jesus also heals the daughter of a gentile and heals a deaf mute.

Chapter Eight

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 8th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus feeds the four thousand and warns the disciples about the leaven of the Pharisees and of Herod. Jesus heals a blind man outside of a village and Peter is shown that Jesus is the Messiah. Jesus predicts his death and is rebuked by Peter.

 

Chapter Nine

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 9th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. The transfiguration of Jesus, healing of the boy with an evil spirit and an explanation as to who will be the greatest within the Kingdom of God. Also the explanation of Gehenna and the worm which did not die.

Chapter Ten

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 10th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus teaches about divorce, blesses the children, teaches the rich young man, and again predicts his death. James and John make a request and Jesus again has to explain about what is important to be a leader in the Kingdom of God. Blind Bartimaeus receives his sight.

 

Chapter Eleven

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 11th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus comes to Jerusalem riding on colt and is welcomed as the Messianic King by the people. Jesus clears the Temple of all traders and curses the fig tree.

Chapter Twelve

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 12th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus shared the parable of the tenants of the vineyard, Told the people to pay appropriate due to both Caesar and God and told the Sadducee that the resurrection was real and explained the greatest of the commandments. That David called the Messiah Lord and praised the widow's mite.

 

Chapter Thirteen

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 13th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus foretells the Signs of the End of the Age, explaining that no one knows the day or the hour, not even the Angels in Heaven or the Son of God, only the Father knows the day and the hour.

Chapter Fourteen

William Andrews of Exploding Word Ministries continues the teaching session of bible studies examining the teaching recorded within the 14th chapter of the Gospel of Mark. Jesus anointed at Bethany, The Lord's Supper, Jesus predicts Peter's denial, Jesus in Gethsemane. Jesus arrested, before the Sanhedrin, Peter disowns Jesus.

 

Chapter Fifteen

The resurrection, the different endings, the commission of the Church and the signs which will follow the preaching of the true gospel.

    Gus had been gifted with a true pastors heart towards the church congregation and regularly engaged within the caring ministries of the church, such as visiting the sick and maintaining contact with many who have been imprisoned for Christ across the world. He will be greatly missed.
